A lot can change in only 1 day. Belgian weather can go from sunny to rainy to stormy very quick. My point is in Belgium bad weather is guaranteed). Also people can call off an appointment last minute. These 2 crappy situations - bad weather and annulled appointments - will define your change-clothes-and-go pattern throughout the day. Lucky me the sun was shining bright that day.
However what I was afraid of had happened. My afternoon meeting was cancelled. But there I stood with my fancy full-brogue Chelsea boots in front of their office. "I should be celebrating with a hot chocolate in a coffee bar now after that progressive meeting this morning". I was in a positive mindset that day .
After walking a mile in my new suede Chelsea boots, that I call the Summer Funk. Instead of wearing them in I chose the easy road : SNEAKERS!!! Shifting from brand-new dressed shoes to easy runner sneakers felt so relieving. It only felt right walking downtown in all comfort. You could see the difference from miles away.
Quick style advice : when you decide to wear your new dressed shoes without wearing them in, you better have a 2nd pair of comfy sneakers in your backpack. Try to remember that every time.
