What happened last time on #WelcomeToMyCloakroom :
I started off the week by dropping my first legit video for my collaboration with The Cloakroom ( an online personal shopping service from the Netherlands ). See the video on recent post ' JON THE GOLD X THE CLOAKROOM (video) '. After LE video I posted 2 looks styled by The Cloakroom... Have you seen it already guys ? Did you enjoy the color-play ? Share your opinion bellow if you have seen it. I really wanna know.
If you haven't seen it already go to my 2 older looks ' BLUE FOR DAYS ' and ' SMART IN BURGUNDY '. Two different looks with a total different story and my golden style advice.
Collaborating with The Cloakroom was a challenge for me, to be honest, as I wanted to make the 3 looks match my personal swagger. It was a pleasure welcoming you into my cloakroom. Sadly, It's the last time I'll be saying this to you...
WELCOME TO MY CLOAKROOM
This time BLVCK was chosen as the main color. This look is for my dope boys out there who feel comfy wearing black on a daily basis. Black is a color you can never go wrong with. Plus combining black on black is as easy as it sounds.
In my community - meaning my friends, my dawgs, my crew or my ninjaz - we rock black like the best. At least that's how we feel, like the real dope boys. Before we go out to a club or just downtown we send a text containing 1 word " DRESSCODE ? ". Often the answer looks like this : " ALL BLACK ERRTHANG ".
A black on black action can easily get boring, that's why I usually add an extra something to my black look. The problem with an all black look is that it can quickly be seen as 1 shade of black. Yet that's really not the goal here. So praise the lord for accessories.
For this black Dope Boy outfit I needed black and silver accessories. Personally I'm convinced that black & silver is the best bad-ass combo. I would even rewrite Wiz Khalifa's black and yellow song to : " You know what it iz, black & silver, black & silver , black & silver ". There goes my career as a pro-rapper haha.
A golden style advice I want to share with you to upgrade your black look:
- Add a subtle color to your black-on-black outfit of the day. Here I wore a grey crew neck beneath my black denim jacket. DON'T: Black on black look with YELLOW crew neck or t-shirt. DO: black on black look with GREY/ ARMY GREEN/DEEP BLUE crew neck or t-shirt.
- GO HARD ON ACCESSORIES! When your outfit contains limited color, you can start accessorizing. Use a watch, a bracelet, a chain, sunglasses, rings etc. In this case you got the permission to go all in. Don't underestimate what accessories can do to your outfit.
- Wear your favorite pair of statement shoes. For the simple reason that you want your shoes to stand out.
I read somewhere that black hides vulnerabilities, insecurities and lack of self-confidence. That may be a proper explanation to why I felt so powerful wearing this fit. I felt the fierce, I felt the coolness and all of the above. I felt DOPE!
