To spread the word about the work of the '16 International Woolmark Prize finalists The Woolmark Company sponsored a public art initiative inviting users to participate in an online collaborative artistic experience. Big fan of Jonathan Christopher - one of the finalists - I quickly joined this chain reaction. Here's a quote from the IWP website explaining the chain reaction.
Celebrating creative innovation and reflecting the community spirit of the prize, Chain Reaction connects people from all corners of the globe by allowing them to collaborate using digital effects to manipulate imagery that represents each of the twelve International Woolmark Prize finalists. With each new human interaction, the chain of collaborations grows, making each participant an indispensable link in an inspiring social experience.
Here is the result of my online artistic experience with IWP.
Today the six-menswear finalists presented their men's collection during a runway presentation at Pitti Uomo, the world’s premiere menswear event. This years menswear finalists were :
Munsoo Kwon (Asia),
P. Johnson (Australia),
Agi & Sam (British Isles),
Jonathan Christopher (Europe),
Suketdhir (India, Pakistan and the Middle East)
and Siki Im (USA).
Last time I blogged about the International Woolmark Prize ( read here ) was to proudly announce Jonathan Christopher en Nanna Van Blaaderen winning the regional prize.
Although my vote went to Jonathan Christopher, the 2016 International Woolmark Prize went to Suketdhir.
