The turtleneck is without any doubt an iconic style piece in a man's wardrobe. But most of the time we men wear it in black, grey, burgundy or blue. But I went for flame red because I have a taste for making a modern key piece pop. Like this flame red turtleneck from Filippa K I'm wearing now. It's also the perfect layering piece for this very cold autumn/winter season.
Whenever I wear a turtleneck I feel so elegant, sophisticated & a tiny bit retro ... like James bond ( in the 70's) or Michael Fassbender aka Magneto ( when he's rocking his turtleneck + leather jacket combo ). Every man who is aiming for a sophisticated modern style must have a turtleneck in their wardrobe.
Recently I found out that young men don't opt for a turtleneck easily. Let me make it easier for you with my #styletips.
#1: Skinny guys go for it
For us skinny guys the turtleneck is the perfect item to embellish your long neck. And come out looking confident & sexy. Try wearing a turtleneck on a date. There's nothing better then an aura of sexiness and confidence during the date itsel.
#2: The Turtleneck never dates
You can wear it à la 70's retro, with a Harrington jacket in leather, corduroy or suède. If you're a fan of the modern dandy style, you can wear it with a blazer or a denim jacket.
#3: Red goes with dark
If you ever thought of buying a red turtleneck: combine it with something very dark. I suggest black or navy blue.
